What is tr 85?

TR-85 is a main battle tank developed and produced by Romania. It is an improved version of the TR-77, which was itself a development of the Soviet T-55 tank. The TR-85 features a longer barrelled 100mm gun and a more powerful engine compared to its predecessor. It also has a new fire control system and improved armor protection. The tank is relatively lightweight and has a low silhouette, making it more maneuverable and harder to detect. The TR-85 entered service with the Romanian Army in the late-1980s and saw action during the Yugoslav Wars in the 1990s. A total of 708 TR-85 tanks were produced between 1986 and 1990.
